The wait is over for Hamiltonians, as Zellers pop-up is finally making its way into the city this month.

The company announced last week (Sept 6)  that it would pop up in all remaining Hudson’s Bay locations across the country including Hamilton, Oakville, Mississauga, and more in time for the upcoming Holiday season.

“Customers can expect a helpful, playful shopping experience packed full of low prices day in, day out,” Zellers said in a press release.

Pop-up footprints will vary from store to store, ranging from 1,000 – 2,800 square feet depending on location.

The pop-up concept gives customers a taste of Zellers, a somewhat nostalgic Canadian store that first opened in 1928 and lasted until 2013 when its locations decided to close.

However, the chain is slowly making a comeback through 24 store-in-stores (and one more on the way) as well as 22 pop-ups that opened earlier this year.

Now owned by Hudson’s Bay, company officials say the pop-ups give consumers a taste of the Zellers brand by providing a sampling of the merchandise that could be provided in a larger-format store while capturing some of the nostalgia the brand provides.

The new Hamilton pop-up will be featured before September 22 at the Limeridge Mall located at 999 Upper Wentworth St.
