The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced the launch of the Ticats Audio Network, which will go live on Thursday (Aug. 5) ahead of the Canadian Football League club’s 2021 season opener against the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg.
The ambitious project will provide year-round audio coverage of the Ticats and include live game broadcasts, complete with five hours of exclusive gameday programming.
Fans can go to listen.ticats.ca and also listen through the Ticats All Access app, which will include additional on-demand audio content.
Former Sportsnet 590 The FAN program director, Dave Cadeau, will serve as Executive Director of the network.
“The Ticats Audio Network will deliver behind-the-scenes coverage, analysis and storytelling that will entertain, inform and ignite the passion of Ticats fans, and most importantly deliver that content when, where and how they want to consume it,” said Matt Afinec, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Tiger-Cats.
“We’re lucky to have assembled an outstanding cast of talented individuals that are eager to provide exclusive audio content to our fans. From X’s and O’s, to lifestyle content, to player & alumni hosted series, it’s an exciting opportunity to deliver this volume of content to our tremendous fans.”
Games will be called by former Rogers Sportnet play-by-play broadcaster, RJ Broadhead and former Tiger-Cats all-star receiver Luke Tasker.
Another former all-star receiver who wore black and gold, Andy Fantuz, will also provide analysis during games. CHCH sports anchor Clint “Bubba” O’Neil will also contribute.
