A 71-year old woman is in life-threatening condition after being hit by a vehicle in Hamilton.

The Hamilton woman was crossing Queenston Road northbound at Riverdale Drive in the city’s east end Thursday (Dec. 14) shortly before 5:30 p.m., Hamilton Police said in a press release.

A Jaguar travelling westbound, driven by a 72-year-old man from Grimsby, hit the woman, police said.

The woman was transported to hospital where she is listed in serious, life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Jaguar remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Speed, distraction and driver impairment have been ruled out as factors, police said.

Due to the severity of the injuries the Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

The roads were closed for the investigation yesterday.
