Ontario Hamilton police, head-on collision charges dangerous driving

A woman has died after the vehicle she was driving hit a tree in Hamilton.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a 2023 Dodge Durango that left the roadway and struck a tree on Concession 5 East, just east of Robson Road in the Waterdown area shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday (April 4), Hamilton Police said in a press release today.

The driver of the Dodge, a 34-year-old woman from Hamilton, was transported to hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival, police said.

This is Hamilton’s fifth traffic fatality of 2024, police said.

The Hamilton Police collision reconstruction unit has taken over the investigation.

Concession 5 East was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since re-opened.
