Police in Hamilton are asking for the public to help with information about a suspicious “interaction” between an unknown male and a younger child last Friday outside an east-end elementary school.
The Hamilton Police (HPS) say that on Dec. 16 at 9 a.m., there was a confrontation between the unidentified male suspect and a male student from St. Luke Catholic Elementary School. The incident took place at 345 Albright Rd. just outside the front entrance of the school.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 16 to 18 years-of-age. He is about five-foot-eight with a thin build. He had ear-length black braided hair and was wearing a light neon green jacket, black pants, black backpack and silver earrings. The suspect was last seen running westbound away from the school.
“The unknown male remains unidentified and police are looking for witnesses who may have been in the area and observed the suspect,” HPS said on Thursday.
In similar investigations, dashcam footage from drivers who were in the area, and home surveillance footage from around the time of the incident, has assisted HPS with identifying a suspect to the public.
Anyone who has information that might assist with this investigation should contact HPS Det.-Sgt. Steve Lassaline (905-546-2918).
Information may also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477; online at crimestoppershamilton.com).
