- Movie theatres
- Skating rinks: Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre – Serafini Family Ice Pad, Dundas Driving Park, Freelton Community Park, Waterdown Memorial Park, as well as outdoor rinks (weather permitting)
- Some drug stores, such as Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall
- Some restaurants
- Splitsville Entertainment
Closed
- Banks
- Beer Stores
- Canada Post
- Government offices. Hamilton City Hall administration offices will re-open January 2
- Grocery stores
- Hamilton Farmers’ Market
- Independent movie cinemas

- Libraries and civic museums

- Recreation Centres
Mail delivery
- There will be no mail delivery.
Trash and recycling
- There will be no trash or recycling collection. Waste collection will be pushed ahead one day.
Transit
- Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) and DARTS will be operating holiday service hours.
- GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on January 1.
