A Hamilton man says he and his wife were jumping up and down in celebration after winning the Lotto 6/49 second prize in the Nov. 20, 2021 draw.
Michael Catchpole of Stoney Creek won the second prize worth $107,291.70.
The 54-year-old said he discovered his win while enjoying his morning cup of coffee.
“I scanned my ticket and then woke up my wife so she could double-check what I was seeing,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “We both started jumping up and down celebrating.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Highway 8 in Stoney Creek.
Catchpole plans to invest and help his daughter prepare the nursery for his first grandchild.
“We’ll also celebrate with a nice dinner,” he smiled.
Lotto 6/49 is $3 per play. Draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
