Three people were treated for undisclosed reasons following a two-vehicle collision that closed part of a major Hamilton road earlier this afternoon.

Hamilton fire crews responded to the accident on the corner of Delawana Drive and Centennial Parkway North at about 1:01 p.m., said Trevor Haalstra, assistant deputy chief with the Hamilton Fire Department, in an email to hamilton.insauga.com today (Aug. 30).

Haalstra said a pedestrian was also hurt and treated at the scene.

Crews worked to rescue another person in a passenger vehicle, he added. “The battery was disengaged and vehicle stabilised for both crew and patient safety,” he wrote.

He added that the patient was removed from the vehicle and transferred to the care of emergency crews.

“Reports indicate that three people were treated by EMS,” he said. “No further information is available at this time.”

Centennial Parkway’s lanes reopened between Violet Drive and Vineyard Road, Hamilton police announced on X, formerly on Twitter, just after 3:30 p.m. today (Aug. 30).
