Update: Pedestrian, 77, dies after car strikes him in Hamilton

A 77-year-old man with a walker who was struck by an SUV while crossing the street on Hamilton Mountain has died, police announced today (July 26).

“The pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries,” police said Wednesday.

He was hit by an SUV driven by a 91-year-old man on July 25 while crossing at Fennell Avenue East, west of Upper Wellington Street, at about 10:22 a.m.

The man was treated for “life-threatening” injuries at the hospital Tuesday.

The SUV driver was not injured.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
