Update: Negotiations with barricaded person continue in Hamilton

Hamilton Police are still negotiating with an individual who has barricaded themself in a home.

Police have been on scene in a residential street, Lexington Ave. since around 2 p.m. When they first announced their large presence in the area, they advised residents to stay clear of the area. They have provided two updates since both saying negotiations remain underway.

Investigators have shared no details about the individual or the events that led to them barricading themselves. The most recent update around 5:30 p.m. police reiterated, “The public is asked to stay out of the area as we work to resolve the situation. We appreciate your patience.”
