Update: Hamilton police release more details about stabbing victim

Hamilton police are looking for a suspect in a stabbing in east Hamilton on Thursday and asking residents to help.

Investigators are appealing to residents of the area, bound by Cannon Street East and Barton Street East between Ruth Street and Kinrade Street, to check their video footage for Sept. 14 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. 

They released more information about the victim, whom they described as a white man, 39, who wore a dark-hooded jacket and had a dark-coloured bicycle. They said they don’t have a description of the suspect.

Police said at around 1 p.m. yesterday, the victim went inside a business to ask for help after being stabbed in the back in the area of Barton Street East and Kinrade Avenue. He was sent to hospital in stable condition on Thursday, Sept. 14. 

Police are in the area canvassing for surveillance footage and witnesses.

The stabbing is the second in one day. A 60-year-old man was also stabbed Sept. 14 in a separate incident.
