After realizing a drone was just a bird Police conclude investigation in an Ontario city

An arson probe is underway after a “suspicious” fire broke out yesterday (June 13) at an abandoned residence in Flamborough.

The Hamilton Fire department said it was at the Flamboro Downs property.

Hamilton police’s arson unit is investigating the incident. Police were assisting fire crews at the property off Highway 5 on Tuesday when they found the residence “fully engulfed and the occupants of a neighbouring residence were evacuated as a precaution,” according to the police in an email to hamilton.insauga.com today.

Fire crews extinguished the fire while protecting nearby exposures Tuesday (June 13), according to the Hamilton Fire Department.

The cause and estimates of damages are unknown, according to the fire department. There were no injuries.

Police had flown a drone over the property Tuesday just after noon near Highway 5 in Flamborough.  The drone was used to capture evidence without exposing officers to the fire hazards.
