Motorists may want to consider alternate routes as underground work will be going on for 12 days in part of a major Hamilton road.

The work on Main Street West near Ewen Road will be from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3, according to the City of Hamilton.

During this time, traffic from Ewen Road won’t be able to turn left onto Main Street and westbound traffic on Main Street won’t be able to turn left onto Ewen Road.

In other road disruptions, Hamilton Water is responding to a watermain break near 1350 Garth St. Lane restrictions will affect Garth Street from Stone Church Road West to Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway. Work is expected to wrap up by 4 p.m. today (Oct. 16).

In addition, Hamilton Water is performing a water service replacement at 121 James Street S. As a result, there will be lane restrictions on James Street South between Hunter Street and Young Street. Work is expected to finish by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
