Hamilton police had responded to reports of a dog biting people shortly after noon on Tuesday (June 26), police spokesperson Jackie Penman told hamilton.insauga.com.
The large dog bit three people, including a 20-year-old man on the hip and a 32-year-old woman on the left tricep and right calf, Penman said. Both were taken to hospital.
The police did not provide information about the location of the attacks and the dog’s breed. The attacks reportedly happened downtown near the Hamilton Go Centre at 36 Hunter Street E.
Witnesses told police that a woman was taking care of two dogs, one large and another small one. When police arrived, the dogs were no longer in the area, Penman said. Animal control was also at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident and are trying to identify the woman.
