Two children killed in Hamilton ATV accident identified, GoFundMe created

The two children have been identified that were involved in an ATV accident outside of Hamilton yesterday (Oct. 8).
A GoFundMe has been created for the family of the children and the description of the fundraiser identifies them as 8-year-old Mia (Emilia) and 6-year-old Noah Freire.
They both died yesterday after the side-by-side ATV they were riding with their 35 year-old father went into a pond in Binbrook.
The fundraiser was created today (Oct. 9) by Wes Holmes, a friend of the family.
“In this difficult time while the family is grieving, we look for your generosity to assist with funeral costs, and donations to ensure the family is taken care of while they mourn,” Holmes said. “An unimaginable void has been left in the Freire family that is unfathomable.”
The Hamilton police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident and investigators have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor.
The GoFundMe was created early this morning, and, at the time of publication, has collected $19,410 of the $30,000 goal with 87 people donating so far.
“The Freire family will never be the same,” Holmes said. “Two beautiful babies were taken far to soon, and we hope to aid in any way that we can for the difficult times ahead.”
