Two arrested while washing stolen car: Hamilton police

A man and a woman were arrested in Hamilton, allegedly while washing a stolen car.
Hamilton Police officers were on patrol on May 5, when they spotted a stolen car driving near Campbell Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue North. A man was driving the car with a woman as a passenger.
The officers caught up to the car about two kilometres southwest at a self-serve carwash on Main Street East and Prospect Street South. A man exited the car and began to wash it while the woman remained inside, police say. Both were arrested at the scene.
Investigators searched a black cross-body bag the man was carrying. They claim they found 42.15 grams of meth, 11.37 grams of fentanyl, 27 dilauded pills, and $610. They also searched the woman and allegedly found 0.58 grams of fentanyl, 33.09 grams of cocaine, 6 clonazepam pills and $660.
Kyle Hunt, 34 of Hamilton, is charged with;
- possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- driving while prohibited
- three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000
- possession of a prohibited weapon and,
- four counts of failure to comply with probation
Olivia Putignano, 32 of Hamilton, has been charged with;
- occupying a car without consent
- three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
- possession over $5,000
