The real estate market in Hamilton is standing strong despite the recent slowdown experienced by several large markets in the province.

Hamilton secured the 10th spot on the list of the ‘most competitive cities’ to buy a home and in June 2023, homes are now selling twice as fast compared to six months ago.

With a favourable market, many Hamiltonians are seeking affordable options to invest in properties.

Here’s a look at the five of the least expensive houses that recently sold in Hamilton, as compiled by the real estate website Zoocasa.

104 – 60 Robinson St

Located in the historic Durand neighbourhood, this one-bedroom co-op unit is within walking distance of Durand Park, the Hunter St Go Station, James St S, hospitals, schools, and entertainment venues. It features all the basic amenities like lots of natural light, hardwood floors, and a gas cooktop in the kitchen. This place was listed for $179,000 but sold for a lower price of $170,000.


70 Harvey St:

This 2.5-storey detached home boasts a livable space of 1,500 square feet, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Located across the street from Powell Park, this property has a walk-up basement, a detached garage and an attic area. Listed for $299,850, the property sold for a higher price of $500,000.


102 – 1950 Main St W:

This one-bed, one-bath condo was listed for $319,900 and spans about 599 square feet. The unit features a renovated kitchen with subway tiles, wall-to-wall windows and four piece bathroom. It has all the amenities that you would see in an apartment setting, such as underground parking, a lower-level laundry area and a party room. The condo sold for $310,000 15 days ago.


46 Burton St:

This 1,500 square feet home was listed for $319,900. It boasts three bedrooms, one bathroom and a large yard. The property sold for $330,000 about a week ago.


307 – 66 Bay St S:

This one-bedroom, one-bath unit condo boasts an open-concept living space with 700 square feet of livable space. With polished concrete flooring and exposed ductwork, the unit boasts an industrial look. The building offers a fitness room, rooftop garden/patio, and BBQ areas. The condo was listed for $349,000 and sold for $410,000.
