Three constables hurt after man tries to flee court sentencing in Hamilton

Three special constables were hurt after a man tried to escape the Hamilton courthouse during his sentencing hearing.

Hamilton Police confirmed the incident online shortly before 1 p.m. on Oct. 26. They confirmed the man had been sentenced and tried to escape, injuring the Court Security Special Constables. All three had to be taken to hospital for treatment. Police did not confirm the extent of the officers’ injuries.

The man was eventually brought down and remains in custody.
