Theft of Ancaster Little League’s bleachers results in arrest in Hamilton

A man was arrested and charged with stealing the Ancaster Little League’s bleachers, which are valued at more than $10,000.

 A volunteer noticed the aluminum bleachers had been stolen from the baseball park at 268 Jerseyville Road in Ancaster on June 27. 

Police discovered through local metal recyclers that the bleachers were brought in for scrap metal the day they were stolen.

Naithan Bachiu-Tait, 28, of Hamilton, was arrested on July 20. He’s believed to be one of the individuals responsible for the theft.

He faces charges of trafficking in property over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft over $5,000, failure to comply with release order and three counts of failure to comply with probation.
