The most and least expensive homes that recently sold in Hamilton

A four-bedroom estate that blends a minimalist architectural design and a ultra modern interior with the surrounding countryside – all within a five minute drive of downtown Dundas and its artisan shops and of the nearby waterfalls, gorges and beautiful natural environment of the Niagara Escarpment – was the most expensive home sold in Hamilton last month, with the 4,357 sq. ft home selling for $2,825,000 December 4.

The home on Harvest Road is a work of art, with European oak floors, Brazilian slate tiles and walnut cabinetry, as well as an open concept living area and large kitchen (with a Chef’s prep area), all blending in with the natural environment.

The living area is flooded with natural light with large windows and three large bedrooms (and an office) upstairs offering panoramic views. The lower level features an additional bedroom and bath, cozy family room and gym with cork floor.

At #2 on the list of most expensive homes sold last month is a four-bedroom, 3,530 sq. ft. house on Centre Road in the Carlisle community of Flamborough that sold for $2,377,500. Number three is an extensively upgraded six-bedroom home on Hyde Park Avenue in an established neighbourhood just south of central Hamilton. This home sold for $1.25 million.

At #4 is a three-bedroom home in East Hamilton on Cactus Crescent that sold for $1.075 million, while a Waterdown estate on Meaghan Street that sold for $999,000 comes in at #5 on the list.

At the other end of the slate is a three-bedroom home in the city’s industrial sector, south of the harbour lands, which changed hands for just $370,000. The house at 46 Burton Street sold December 26.

At number two for least expensive homes sold in Hamilton last month is a three-bedroom home in Corktown at 80 Walnut St. S. that sold for $499,997. At #3 is a two-bedroom home on Baron Ave, N. east of downtown that sold December 14 for an even $500,000.

Number four is a three-bedroom home on Cochrane that sold December 5 for $585,000, while #5 on the list is a three-bedroom home at 42 Glamis Court in the West Mountain area that sold December 16 for $622,000.
