Teen accused of selling fentanyl, near church in Hamilton

A teenage boy faces multiple charges for allegedly dealing drugs near a Hamilton church.

Hamilton Police say officers spotted the boy while on patrol around 11:00 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2024. The officers watched the boy make several “hand-to-hand” transactions and then moved to arrest him for drug trafficking.

When they searched the boy, police say they found:

  • 56.76 grams of multiple-coloured fentanyl
  • 83 Dilaudid pills
  • $50 in cash and
  • five rounds of .22 calibre ammunition

The teen has been charged with:

  • two counts of possession for trafficking for the fentanyl and hydromorphone
  • and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

“The accused was held for a bail hearing. Hamilton Police remain committed to keeping our community safe by addressing the dangers of drug trafficking and its impacts on vulnerable individuals, especially those experiencing homelessness,” police said.
