Suspect in slaying of man whose body was found at a Hamilton park arrested

A suspect has been arrested following the discovery of a body at Pier 4 Park in Hamilton on April 2.
The deceased has been identified as Jason Gallant, a 50-year-old man from the Hamilton area.

Hamilton police say that on April 18, officers executed two search warrants in Hamilton in relation to the death. Michael Castiglione, a 36-year-old Hamilton man, has been charged with second-degree murder.
In a news release, police said they are not seeking additional suspects or involved vehicles and believe the incident was isolated.
The deceased and the accused were known to each other, according to police.
The exact cause of Gallant’s death has not yet been provided.
The charges have not been proven in court.
