UPDATE: Suspect identified after bomb threat at Hamilton City Hall

One suspect has been arrested following a recent bomb threat in Hamilton on Friday, August 6.

Around 12:00 p.m., police urged residents to avoid the area around City Hall as they investigated a threat.

Officers cleared the area and searched the premises, but no threat was found.

In a brief statement today (August 7), police said a suspect has been identified and arrested in relation to the bomb threat.

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, is charged with Mischief and Uttering Death Threats.


UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 28 year old Hamilton man Robin Tanguay. He is facing charges of:

  • Mischief – Interfere with lawful use of property
  • Uttering threats to cause death
