Store staff threatened with pepper spray in perfume theft, police seek 2 suspects in Hamilton

A store employee was threatened with pepper spray after she confronted two people she suspected of taking perfume in Hamilton.
The incident happened at a shop in the Greys Road and Highway 8 area in Stoney Creek on Aug. 4 shortly before 10 p.m., Hamilton Police said in a press release today (Aug. 14).
The employee told police she saw two people hiding perfume bottles in their pockets and a reusable bag, police said. She confronted the male suspects, at which point she was threatened with pepper spray before the they fled the store, police added.
Fortunately, no one was injured and the pepper spray was not used, police said.
But more $1,000 worth of products was reported stolen.
Police are seeking two people in connection with the incident.
One male is described as white, about five feet tall, skinny with short, blonde hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
The other is described as Black, six-foot-three-inches tall with a medium build, black hair with corn rows. He was wearing a yellow sweater and black pants.
