Santa Claus and some geotechnical road work will cause a few traffic disruptions this week in Hamilton and Stoney Creek.

The annual Stoney Creek Santa Claus Parade Saturday brings candy canes, children smiling and holiday good cheer to the east side of Hamilton Saturday and it also means a few road closures, with Gray Road, from Queenston Road to King Street shut down for St. Nick’s arrival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As well, King Street, from Centennial Parkway to Gray Road, will be closed to traffic from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There is a temporary lane closure today until 4 p.m. on Upper Wentworth Rd. N. between LINC and Kingfisher Drive for geotechnical and environmental investigation. The closure process will be phased, with each location undergoing approximately one hour of downtime. Motorists should expect some delays in the area.

There will also be a temporary lane closure on Safari Road just east of Cooper Road for geotechnical investigations Thursday, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect some delays.
