Stolen car recovered after a crash, 2 Hamilton teens face charges

Four people, including two Hamilton teens, face charges following a report of thefts and a crash in Caledonia.

A resident reported a person attempting to enter a vehicle on Jamieson Drive in Caledonia on Sept. 21 around 4:30 a.m., OPP said in a press release.

Officers found the suspect vehicle, but it fled the scene, police said.

A short time later, police received a report of a collision on Caledonia Avenue involving the suspect vehicle.

Police recovered a stolen car and miscellaneous personal property during the investigation.

And officers arrested five people in connection to the incident.

Hamilton residents Dylan Raposo, 18, and Zamil Ali, 18, are both charged with possession of property obtained by crime (under $5000) and obstruct peace officer.

Both individuals were released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga in November.

Police also took three youths into custody during the investigation.

Two youths have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime (under $5000).

A third individual was not charged.

The youths cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
