A person was stabbed early Saturday morning in Hamilton’s east end.
Hamilton Police say officers responded shortly after 1:20 a.m. to the area of Barton Street East and Barnsdale Avenue North after reports of a stabbing.
The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A suspect was arrested a short distance from the scene, police say.
Additional information on the victim, including their age, whether they were male or female and place of residence, has not been released at this time.
Investigators believe the incident was targeted and say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
