Serious collision results in foot chase in Hamilton

The Hamilton Police Service conducted an on-foot pursuit yesterday (June 25) after a driver in a collision in downtown Hamilton attempted to flee the scene.
The collision happened on King St. at Sanford Ave. South at approximately 4:30 p.m on June 25.
Police say they had officers in the area when they received a call about the collision and were able to attend the scene quickly.
When police arrived, the driver of the black vehicle, a 35-year-old Hamilton man attempted to flee the scene.
An on-foot police pursuit resulted in the capture and arrest of the man.
The 35-year-old has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle as well as attempt to flee the scene.
The man appeared today over video call at the John Sopinka Courthouse in Hamilton.
Police did not provide info about the condition of the other driver involved in the collision.
