Second Hamilton man charged in shooting death of 17-year-old girl

A second person has been charged with manslaughter in the slaying last summer of 17-year-old Hamilton girl Myah Larmond .
Hamilton Police Service said Friday they had charged a 20-year-old man in relation to the fatal shooting of Larmond, which occurred at a house party. On July 15, 2020, HPS officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 4:00 a.m. on St. Matthews Avenue. They found a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound, who died of her injuries in hospital.
Less than 24 hours later, 21-year-old Devante Skye-Davis was charged with manslaughter. Following his arrest, investigators worked to identify an unknown man who fled the residence after the shooting.

The male has been identified as Cadence Beauparlant, 20, of Hamilton. He has been charged with manslaughter and unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm. Beauparlant appeared in a Hamilton court on Friday.
Hamilton police say they are satisfied that all individuals who were at the house party when the shooting happened have been identified.
