The search is on for a driver involved in a collision that left a 37-year-old Hamilton man with “significant” injuries last Wednesday afternoon (May 22).
The driver failed to remain at the scene of the collision that resulted in a Hamilton man being taken to a nearby hospital, where he currently remains.
Police received a call following a report of the collision and were told by the victim that they were walking home alone on May 22 shortly between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. near King Street East and Holton Avenue South when the incident took place.
While walking on the sidewalk on Sherman Avenue South, between Main Street East and King Street East, near possibly Dunsmure Road, they were struck by a larger vehicle, that appeared to be a light-colored or white truck or SUV.
Police say the driver of the vehicle would leave the scene of the collision.
What led to the man’s injuries remain unclear at the moment as Hamilton police continue to investigate.
Residents in the area are being asked by police to check their security surveillance cameras between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. for any suspicious activity.
