UPDATE: Vehicle drops nearly 100 feet after driving off Sherman Access

A Thursday morning (Dec. 31, 2020) collision resulted in a rope rescue performed by Hamilton emergency crews.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on the downbound (west leg) lanes of the Sherman access at around 7:30 a.m.

The vehicle dropped nearly 100-feet and became trapped on the embankment, according to reports.

The Sherman Access was blocked off at Wentworth St.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a man in his 40s. He was transported to hospital after extradition from his vehicle.

UPDATE: Police say Sherman Access is now open.
