Rider thrown from e-bike after crash with pick-up truck in Hamilton

An e-bike rider suffered serious injuries after being thrown from his bike in Hamilton.
The e-bike rider, a 43-year-old Hamilton man, was travelling in the eastbound bike lane on Cannon Street at Gibson Avenue in Hamilton shortly before 2 p.m. yesterday (Sept. 8), Hamilton Police Service said in a press release.
At the same time, the driver of a Ford F150 was attempting to make a left turn onto Cannon Street.
The e-bike and pick-up truck collided and rider was thrown from his bike.
The man was transported to hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken charge of the investigation.
