Update: Power outage affects over 1,200 homes and businesses in Hamilton

Update: All power has now been restored in Hamilton. Those without power are asked to call 1-833-ALECTRA. Alectra Utilities spokesperson Ashley Trgachef told hamilton.insauga.com the cause of the outage was “equipment malfunction.”

Alectra Utilities is reporting an outage affecting 1,229 homes and businesses within the areas of Mohawk Road East to Killbride Road and Upper Ottawa Street to Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway. Crews have been dispatched.

The power is estimated to return at about 1 p.m.
