Update: Power out in Hamilton Mountain neighbourhood

Update: Repairs are ongoing but the outage has been reduced small stretch of Rymal Rd. between Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and Second Rd. The cause of the outage remains unknown.

The lights are out across a Stoney Creek neighbourhood on the edge of the city.

Alectra Utilities announced the outage shortly after 4 p.m. on Nov. 6. The outage runs from Upper Centennial Pkwy. in the west along Highland Rd. to 10th Rd. It’s also affected homes from South Townline Rd. up to Green Mountain Rd. There is also a small, connected outage around Ridge Rd. and Smith Rd.

The outage has cut power to 555 homes in the area. Alectra estimates the power will be back online around 8 p.m. Crews have already been dispatched to make repairs. The cause of the outage remains unknown as yet and Alectra is investigating.
