Police investigating Central Park stabbing incident that sent Hamilton man to the hospital

A 34-year-old man was hospitalized after being involved in a stabbing incident on Aug. 27, in Hamilton.
According to Hamilton Police, the incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m., at 168 Bay Street North at Central Park.
Authorities say they recieved information of an assault that had taken place in front of a tented area, where two individuals began to fight and one brandished a knife, stabbing the 34-year-old.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with stab wounds inflicted by what is believed to be a machete(broad blade similar to an axe, or a long-bladed knife),” Hamilton Police said in a press release.
Immediate medical attention was provided to the victim, who was then transported to hospital and later released.
Police are seeking public’s assistance in locating the suspect, who remains at large at this time.
“It is an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public.”
“We will continue to maintain a police presence in Central Park and surrounding areas,” Hamilton Police added.
