Police charge a Hamilton man after weapons, drugs and cash are seized

A 29-year-old Hamilton man is facing 12 separate charges after police responded to a 911 call about a suspect waving a weapon in public.
Yesterday (December 31) at 8:30 pm, police were called to the Main Street East and Wexford Avenue where they found the man with the weapon.
After safely arresting him, they found a concealed firearm, a large quality of drugs and money on him.
They then seized the following items:
- One prohibited shotgun
- Hash – 66.8 g
- Fentanyl – 157.6 g
- Cocaine – 28.5 g
- Crystal Meth – 1.9 g
- A digital scale
- Empty drug bags
- A large amount of Canadian and Czech currency
As a result of the investigation, the man has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Careless use of a Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized
- Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Possession for the Purpose Fentanyl
- Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose Crystal Meth
- Proceeds of Crime
- Fail to Comply Adult Probation Order
