Photos to help identify Hamilton gunfight suspects released

Photos of two men believed to be involved in a shooting incident in central Hamilton on Monday (May 13) have been released in order to help identify them.

Hamilton police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects opened fire at a vehicle in the area of Wilson Street and Birch Avenue North and Cannon Street East.

The two men, who police say appear to be friends and acquaintances, were engaged in a gunfight with the driver of a Nissan vehicle.

Police have recovered the Nissan involved in the shooting and are continuing to try to identify the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle.

Both male shooters firing at the vehicle have been identified as suspect one and two.

Suspect one is described as male in his early 20’s with tan skin and dark hair. He was wearing a red baseball cap with a grey hoodie and dark jeans, had on black shoes while carrying a black satchel.

Suspect two is described by police as a male in his early 20’s with a black hat/hood. He had on a grey sweater with patterned pants and was also carrying a black satchel.

“Hamilton Police thank the immediate community members in the area for their cooperation with the investigation,” said police. “Their assistance has been invaluable, and investigators are extremely grateful for their support.”

Investigators will be in the neighbourhood on Tuesday canvassing for further video.

Police are asking those who live in the area to review their security camera footage from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. for any suspicious activity.
