A collision resulted in a person becoming trapped inside the car, which had flipped on its roof, on a Hamilton highway.

Hamilton firefighters were able to pry open the rear door and rescued the individual today (July 26).

An eastbound ramp on the Linc was closed for some time when the incident happened just after 10:41 a.m., Trevor Haalstra, assistant deputy chief with the Hamilton Fire Department, told hamilton.insauga.com.

“The patient was successfully extricated from the vehicle and transferred to EMS,” Haalstra said.

When asked if the person was the driver, he replied: “I cannot confirm that information.”

He said no further details are available at this time.
