Person seen ‘peeping’ through basement window of Stoney Creek home

The public’s assistance is being requested in helping to identify a person who was seen peeping through a Stoney Creek resident’s basement window in the early hours of Wednesday (Sept. 18).

Hamilton Police say the suspicious person incident took place between midnight and 1 a.m. in the area of Highway 8, between Green Road and King Street East.

A resident reported seeing an unknown person, believed to be a male, looking through their basement window. The individual was dressed in black clothing.

This person would flee the area on foot in an unknown direction immediately after police were contacted.

Hamilton Police are urging residents and business owners in the surrounding area to review any surveillance footage they have captured between 11 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 and 1 a.m. on September 18.

Any images of suspicious individuals during this timeframe may help police with their investigation.

“Hamilton Police remind residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity around their homes or businesses,” said police. “By promptly contacting police, it will ensure that incidents can be investigated thoroughly.”
