New Canadian leisure airline Canada Jetlines has signed a contract to provide aircraft and crew to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for their regular season games.
The contract will see Canada Jetlines fly the team to select away games during the 2023 season.
“Canada Jetlines is very pleased to have been selected for this contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, an iconic Canadian Sports Franchise with a rich history dating back to 1869,” said Canada Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle.
Doyle says the airline is seeing more demand for its Charter and ACMI (Aircraft Crew Maintenance and Insurance) business, which it offers in addition to regular flight service to leisure destinations such as Las Vegas and Cancun.
This is second sports team to partner with the airline, with the first being football team Ottawa Redblacks.
Canada Jetlines operated its first-ever flight in September 2022 from Mississauga’s Pearson Airport to Calgary.
This year, the regular CFL season will run from June 8 until October 28, with the Tiger-Cats set to play six of their home games within the first 13 weeks of the season.
Hamilton will host the 110th edition of the championship game at Tim Hortons Field on November 19.
