Nearly 1,400 homes in Hamilton without power

Hamilton’s Durand neighbourhood looks set to be in the dark until the wee hours of the morning.
Alectra Energy announced a power outage affecting 1,391 homes between Queen St S and John St S shortly after 8 p.m. The affected area extends north to Duke St and south to the Escarpment.
An “overhead distribution problem” is the cause of the outage according to Alectra. The have dispatched repair crews, but the estimated time of repair is not until 2 a.m.
