Multiple charges laid on Hamilton man following a motorcycle collision

A 47-year-old man from Hamilton is facing an array of charges after a collision that occurred on Highway 403 near Aberdeen Ave. yesterday afternoon(Aug 21).

Burlington OPP responded to the crash along with fire and paramedics.

According to Ontario Provincial Police Officer K. Schmidt, the collision took place at approximately 1:40 p.m. and involved a man riding a motorcycle on the highway.

Although paramedics were on the scene to provide medical assistance, the rider refused treatment and attempted to flee the scene before the police arrived, according to Officer Schmidt.

Since the rider was travelling in the wrong direction, Burlington Police were able to intercept the vehicle and arrest the individual.

Police have not disclosed information about injuries caused due to this collision.

The man is now facing multiple charges including dangerous driving, possession of drugs, impaired driving and flight from police among others.

“Thanks to the witnesses who called 911,” said Officer Schmidt in a video posted by OPP Highway Safety Division.
