Mounted police’s newest member, TC, named in honour of Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The newest member of the Hamilton Police Service Mounted Unit is a Tiger-Cat.
Meet TC, the horse Hamilton police have named in honour of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats football club.
The CFL team, say police, have for decades been integral part of the community and by naming TC after the gridiron squad the gesture reflects the organization’s commitment to Hamilton.
“The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been woven into the fabric of our community,” said Hamilton Police Chief Frank Bergen. “Naming our newest horse TC is a tribute to the dedication and the strong bond they share with the people of Hamilton.”
TC will patrol the streets of Hamilton along with other horses MacNab, Lincoln, Sutherland, Sawyer, and Griffin.
The Mounted unit offers high visibility policing, crowd management and active crime prevention in Hamilton’s neighbourhoods.
The unit, explains Hamilton police, responds to areas identified by hotspot analysis that require focused proactive patrol, enhancing community engagement and public safety.
