Update: More than 2,000 customers without power in Hamilton’s Stoney Creek

Update 8:12 p.m.: Alectra Energy announced power has been restored to more than half of all affected customers have their power restored. However 985 customers remain in the dark.

More than 2,000 Alectra customers are about to be in the dark tonight as their power remains out while the sun’s getting low.

Alectra Energy announced 2,412 home and business the Hamilton’s Stoney Creek community between Highway 8 and South Service Rd and from Nash Rd to Grey.

The outage is affecting the Lakely, Greyside and Riverside East and West neighbourhoods, just south of Queen Elizabeth Way.

Repair crews are on scene however, with an estimated repair time of 10 p.m. The cause of the outage remain unknown, but is under investigation.
