Hamilton police say they are grieving with the family of a seven-year-old boy who was found dead after going missing from a beach on Canada Day.
Early on Thursday, the Hamilton Police Service said officers were searching for Nathanael Selambi, 7, who went missing around 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Binbrook Conservation Area.
The child was last seen on the beach by the floating inflatable playground, police said.
In an update on Thursday, investigators confirmed that the boy had been found deceased. Police did not release any additional details about where Selambi was located.
“Our thoughts are with Nathanael’s family, loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragic loss,” police said. “Hamilton Police thank the public, community partners, and emergency responders for their assistance and support throughout the search.”
