An individual was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old man in a downtown Hamilton apartment on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Hamilton police said the crime happened just before 11:45 a.m. at 160 Market St.

Police said the man suffered injuries believed to have been caused by an “edged weapon.”

The 19-year-old man was brought to a hospital with “non-life threatening injuries,” Hamilton police spokesperson Jackie Penman told hamilton.insauga.com in an email today (Aug. 9).

“Police currently have one individual in custody at this time but are continuing to investigate,” she said.

On its website, the building at 160 Market St. is described as having “newly renovated apartments.”

The incident comes after a break-in at a residence on the same street. The Hamilton Spectator reported that the site was the 160 Market St. building.
