Man found shot in Hamilton as police try to ‘unravel’ circumstances

Hamilton Police are trying to “unravel the circumstances” of a shooting in the city after a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
A man in his 20s, who police have not identified, was found with a gunshot wound near Gibson Ave. and Barton St. The man had been shot during an altercation around 4 a.m. on Jan. 31. The discovery prompted a “comprehensive investigation,” police said.
“This ongoing investigation aims to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident, with the focus centred on the area encompassing Gibson Ave. and Barton St,” investigators wrote.
They have asked anyone who was in the area, or has footage of it, from 3:45 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday to come forward.
