Man dies in an overnight shooting in Hamilton

An overnight shooting claimed the life of a Hamilton man.
A 36-year-old Hamilton man died in a shooting on Tuesday (Oct. 3) night, Hamilton Police said in a press release.
Police were called to a report of multiple gunshots in the area of Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South shortly before 11 p.m., police said.
Officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley. He was transported to hospital where he then succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Shortly thereafter, police received information that another person appeared at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police believe the two incidents could be related.
Multiple bullet casings were found at Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South and police were holding the scene as of early this morning (Oct. 4).
