Major road closed after pedestrian struck, seriously injured in Hamilton

A major roadway has been shut down following a serious collision in Hamilton today (Feb. 5).
Shortly after 3:00 pm, it was reported that a man in his 70s was struck while crossing in the area of Upper James Street and Fennell Avenue East.
The pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Upper James Street is closed between Fennell Avenue East and McElroy Road for the investigation.
Residents should avoid the area.

UPDATE: The pedestrian is in critical but stable condition, police say. The driver remained on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
