Hamilton Police have lifted the lockdown they put in place to search a high school for a gun.

Police locked the school down around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 29. They confirmed they had five people in custody, but did not describe them. They likewise did not share what if any incident led to the arrests or what charges the quintet face. They did say the school remained on lockdown while they searched for a bag believed to have a gun in it.

By 1:30 p.m. they still hadn’t found anything, but confirmed the search and the lockdown were ongoing. Shortly before 2 p.m. police said they had concluded their search. They did not confirm whether or not they found a firearm.

The investigation is still ongoing. However, the threat is ended. The five suspects are believed to be the only people involved.
